At Caroline's school they are learning about the Letter People: Mr. M with a Munchy Mouth, Mr. T with the Tall Teeth, etc. I was told at the beginning of the year that all of the consonants would be male and the vowels female. This made me wonder what they would do about Y. Would Y be a hermaphrodite? A tranny of some kind?
As it turns out, I was misinformed. As you can see from the catalogue at the Letter People homepage, there are at least two female consonants, as well as Ms. Y, who may still have some vowel-identity issues.

The old Letter People program used females for vowels and males for consonants. The new program is more gender friendly and has 13 males and 13 females.
