A proposal was sent around for ways to evaluate students critical thinking across the college. It included items like evaluating student's ability to repeat information accurately.
This is my counter proposal, based on the analysis of critical thinking from Alec Fisher and Michael Scriven Critical Thinking: Its Definition and Assessment

Repeating information accurately is thinking, even a necessary condition for critical thinking, but not itself critical thinking. No?
Nice schema.
That's the point. I got this scary memo saying that from no on critical thinking ability will be measured on your ability to correctly repeat information. This struck me as so deeply wrong that I had to get a concrete counter proposal out there. It helped that Fisher and Scriven had already done an excellent analysis.
Is it intentional that the text is too small to read? I hope so.

I like this rubric, although other critical thinking rubrics have been attempted and are quite good/ available widely. I'd suggest correcting the typos, first, and second, rethinking the section in which the tasks are tied to Bloom's Taxonomy of the Cognitive Domain (which might necessitate a rethinking of the whole), based on Anderson and Krathwohl's revision in 2002. Process knowledge is included, and so the metacognition embedded in your rubric might best be dealt with using the revision of Bloom.
